Robert Williams for New Castle County Council President

“Experience we know, with a past we trust”

Robert Williams, a Democratic nominee for New Castle County President, is committed to the issues that matter most to New Castle County residents – public safety and the County’s infrastructure.

Robert’s track record and commitment to public service speaks for itself. Williams, a New Castle County native, began working with the City of Wilmington as a police officer in 1989 rising to the rank of Lieutenant, serving as a Watch Commander, and Deputy Commander of Special Operations. After retiring, Williams became an Emergency Room Trauma Nurse with Christiana Care.  Williams then spent 15 years investigating medical fraud.  Currently, Williams is serving as the Emergency 911 Administrator with the Delaware Department of Homeland Security.

Robert was elected councilman and served for 7 years.  He  structured multiple ordinances focusing on spending, accountability, and transparency  in government. Williams is also the creator of an ordinance regarding reckless Off Road vehicles and ATV’s on public streets.  A fierce supporter of public safety, Williams advocated and passed a law to protect healthcare professionals, adding a layer of protection in a 2016 law  upgrading the penalty of assaulting healthcare workers.

Williams now lives in Newark with his family.  A graduate of Wilmington High School, Williams has been a volunteer firefighter since the age of 15. Williams is an honorary member of IAFF Local 1590.  He holds degrees in both Criminal Justice and Nursing. Williams is currently the President of the  Deerborne Woods Maintenance Corporation.
